Our Story

JoyWorks Networks' mission is to spread the power of joy - vibrantly alive peace - amidst life's challenges, through stories,  conversations, content, community and charitable giving.

In collaboration with nonprofit partners, supporters, and families of all kinds, JoyWorks Networks Publishing creates children’s books to help kiddos and their caregivers talk about tough topics and learn that, with grit and resilience, they can find their way to joy.

JoyWorks teams up with 501(c)3 organizations to help them support their clients and their mission, magnify their message, and create new development opportunities.

JoyWorks Founder and Author, Janet Lawless Christ, loves life with her husband and her menagerie-a-plenty in North County San Diego. After an energetic business and real estate career, she founded JoyWorks Networks.

Janet’s books are written to help kids and their families talk about difficult issues like disabilities, food insecurity and homelessness.

“People of all ages need to know the truth, talk about it, then seek and hold on tightly to the nuggets of joy they find.  That’s where the understanding and healing begins.”

JoyWorks' Illustrator and Designer, Ryan Hernandez, was born and raised in Sothern California and graduated from CSUF with a degree in Fine Arts Illustration.  He currently lives in Valencia, CA, with his wife, two children, and labrador, Fred.
